September 2017 - Siemens and Alstom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to combine Siemens’ mobility business with Alstom. The combined entity will create a world champion in mobility, bringing its customers ever more innovative and cleaner solutions.

LAUNCH

Mastria: the first multimodal supervision solution

April 2017 – Launch of the first multimodal monitoring solution to facilitate urban transport management by effectively orchestrating all means of city transport and streamlining passenger routes.

ITALY AND THE NETHERLANDS

New flexible range of regional and intercity trains

October 2017 – Unveiling of Coradia Stream, the latest generation of standardised Coradia regional trains with a modular design to adapt to the specific demands of both regional and intercity transport.

EMISSION-FREE TRAIN

First contract in Germany for the Coradia iLint

November 2017- Contract signed for 14 Coradia iLint trains for Lower Saxony, Germany. The Coradia iLint is an emission-free train powered by a hydrogen fuel cell.

INDIA

New Madhepura plant for joint venture with Indian Railways

In October 2017, production started at India’s first electric-locomotive manufacturing facility. Located in Madhepura, this plant is part of a joint venture between Alstom and Indian Railways. Its first all-electric “Make-In-India” locomotive was completed in March.

AUSTRALIA

Delivery of world’s first Citadis X05 light rail vehicle to Sydney

August 2017 – Sydney, Australia, is the first city in the world to receive the Citadis X05 LRV, a world-class, modern transport solution to meet the needs of the growing city.

NEW MOBILITY

Aptis: innovative all-electric solution

October 2017 - Innovation award at the Busworld exhibition in Belgium for Aptis, a unique mobility solution based on a tram-inspired design.

SOUTH AFRICA

New factory with Gibela joint venture

March 2018 – Completion of the first X-Trapolis Mega car bodyshell at the new train manufacturing plant in Dunnottar by Gibela, Alstom’s South African joint venture executing the PRASA project.

ANTI-CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN

Alstom obtains the ISO 37 001 certification

June 2017 – ISO 37 001 certification has been awarded to Alstom by the AFNOR for the company's anti-corruption management system.

GERMANY

High-speed operation secured with onboard ETCS Baseline 3 system

December 2017 – Deutsche Bahn’s ICE high-speed fleet running on the Berlin-Munich line is fitted with the Atlas 200 solution, compliant with the latest ETCS Baseline 3 standard for safety and interoperability.

CANADA

Light rail vehicles for Ontario

May 2017 - Contract to produce 61 Citadis Spirit LRVs for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area. Specially designed for the Canadian market, they will be assembled in the Toronto region.

SWEDEN

APS for road, a ground-feeding solution for electric roads

November 2017 - Presentation of APS technology for roads in partnership with the Volvo Group, adapted from the ground-level electrification solution widely used for catenary-free trams and applicable to heavy road vehicles.

KAZAKHSTAN

Majority stake in EKZ

December 2017 – Signature of an agreement with the Kazakh national railway company to acquire their 25% share in EKZ, Alstom’s locomotive joint venture in Kazakhstan. The deal will take Alstom's stake in EKZ to 75%, underscoring its commitment to modernise the country's rail network.

PANAMA

Metro for Panama City

March 2018 - Shipping of the first Metropolis trainset for Panama metro line 2 from Alstom factory in Barcelona, in Spain.

ACQUISITION

21net reinforces Alstom's digital offering

March 2018 – Signature of a purchase agreement for the acquisition of on-board internet specialist 21net, a year after that of Nomad Digital, to provide a comprehensive range of Wi-Fi and infotainment solutions.

SUSTAINABLE ENGAGEMENT

Alstom CEO speaks at the One Planet Summit in Paris

December 2017 - Representing Alstom and the Hydrogen Council, Henri Poupart-Lafarge has appeared as part of a panel at One Planet Summit, an event co-organised by the French Presidency, the United Nations and the World Bank.

QATAR

First tram for Lusail

March 2018 – Delivery of the first of 28 Citadis trams for the Lusail light rail network as part of a project to provide the city with a fully integrated tram system including track works, power supply equipment, signalling and platform screen doors.

AUTONOMOUS SOLUTIONS

Autonomous tram stabling

April 2017 - First successful tests for autonomous tram stabling at a depot near Paris, France, in partnership with RATP. The tram, by means of sensors detects obstacles and reacts accordingly.

INDIA

First "Make in India" metro inaugurated in Kochi

June 2017 – Alstom-built metros are the first to have been entirely designed in Bangalore and manufactured at Sri City in India supporting the Government’s "Make in India" campaign.

FRANCE

State-of-the-art high-speed trains for the Paris-Bordeaux line

July 2017 - New Avelia Euroduplex for SNCF on the Paris-Bordeaux line (500km in 2 hours), offering unprecedented passenger experience: comfort, design, brightness and connectivity performance.
